How would they ever afford Draisaitl, Saros, and Bouchard extensions?

CBJ reject. We already have to likely buy out Elvis. This is redundant.

I mean...sure? Elvis is headed for a buyout in all likelihood, and we could use a vet backup, maybe Campbell regains form? But it makes way more sense for EDM to just buy out Campbell and use the 1st to actually upgrade the team elsewhere.

I don't see any reason for the Sharks to trade Kostin for Cody Ceci.

That's going to be a no from the Preds; there's no single element in that package compelling enough to make a Saros deal happen.

Take a closer look at Campbell's contract and you'll see why he's a bad choice for that role.

I'm aware there's a dozen better options for that role, and also aware the Oilers wouldn't ever spend their first just to dump a contract.

However: it's a front-loaded deal, so it's only $13.5M total for a $5M/year AAV, which ownership would like, and we'd be using Campbell as the vet backup for one year where the cap doesn't matter; it's able to be buried, too, if he's not adequate.

If it doesn't work, it's another buyout on top of Elvis' for a goalie with a 10-team NTL. There's definitely more reasons not to do it, but if it actually got to the point where we successfully moved Elvis and were offered a 1st, it's not the worst option IMO. But I also don't think Campbell is toast.

It would be a challenge. Trading in 26-27 Kane would free up the necessary money.
