I mean I’m fine w giving up a third for Laughton, I think he’s better than the results he put up this year. I think BUF fans are mad abt Laughton being connected to the 11th pick/ being the big addition this offseason.

Side note, TFP keeps bringing up Mattias Samuelsson as a fit for Philly. Sabres have a ton of LHD and could use some middle 6 scoring punch, any idea about a swap including MS and Farabee?

Cates is a younger Flyer and groomed to be Laughton's successor on our rebuilding team. We are not trading Cates before Laughton.

Canucks pass imho coutuier isn't wroking out in a torts system which is a huge red flag to me, yes he was elite in the pass but that was before the injury issues, he really hasn't looked good this year, it's to long and to big of a contract for the Canucks to risk on a bounce back candidate

Laughton for a 3rd in fine, Laughton for a substantial prospect or a 1st is not what the Sabres need to do

We can certainly talk Cates, but we are still going to want to discuss your center prospects in return. Cates is a perfect 3C; Flyers could use a 2C (Savoie, Kulich). I think Ostlund is already a 3C future for Sabres.

This is a Rossi trade I did a week or so back. I think the Wild would strongly consider this.

It would allow us to focus on LW and D in draft. Michkov comes over and takes over Foersters spot eventually. I think Rossi can be a strong 2C. We just need to sign a 1C in next two years. This also make Frost and Laughton expendable.
