I don’t see any incentive for Mtl to make such deal. Anderson will likely bounce back. Can’t be worst than last season. Matheson have been great.
Kaliyev is intriguing but not enough to pull the trigger and Gavrikov is a ufa defenseman who Habs have no interest of keeping.

Nothing against Lizotte, but the last thing the Wild need is another small forward!

Welcome back after your year-long hiatus!

I think that Byfield's bridge will be shorter and richer.

Hope springs eternal. {insert Charley Brown/Lucy van Pelt/run and kick the football meme here.} However, I agree entirely with the rest of your sentiment.

Gavrikov was "THE" big target just last year at the TDL. This year we would have Gavrikov and Savard at the TDL if we dont flip him right away.

Kaliyev had 1 less goal and 5 less points at 21. Hes only going to get better. Anderson is slowing down, Speed and Size are his biggest assets and hes losing one. He is not smart enough to survive. I do this deal to get rid of his contract.

Habs make this deal.

Anderson have been averaging 20 goal a season for most of is career. Their no reason why it wouldn’t be the case next year. The hate for him have reach disproportionate proportions. Yes he is making a lot of money but he still a valuable players. Their a lot of players in the exact same position as him, PLD is one of them. I am not ready to drop them j der the bus after one miserable season.

Habs doesn’t make this deal. Not a single chance. Matheson is to valuable to them. Gavrikov was a hot target because of is salary now that he is making 5,7 he ain’t attractive as he was

So funny... you're not a Habs fan, period.

Habs would never make this deal in 1000 years. Thank god this is only delusional fantasy.

Habs decline all day long.

Do Habs need more LHD? Or to get rid of some... how many points last year from Matheson? Where was he born?

And we would retain salary.????

We'll keep Anderson thank you very much. Habs are not in a hurry at the moment.

Awful trade proposal

Mentoring, leadership, off the ice stuff Matheson is implicated in many charities event. All those thing are not quantifiable but so much valuable to a organization. Just like Logan Couture will do with the young upcoming group in San Jose.

Habs are stuck with Gallagher and Anderson, perhaps since their games have fallen off, then can pick up the slack with Mentoring, Leadership and "Off the ice stuff"?

Habs young players are almost all defenseman. Gallagher and Anderson can be off ice mentors but they need guidance on the ice. Neither of them can provide that.

They have coaches and such for a reason. I don't think Matheson skating end to end and scoring teaches them anything about their own game.

Leadership and mentoring have been a integral part of successful franchise. When you lose those important players that implant culture rebuild can be very long and hard. Trading Matheson for a return that doesn’t make them better on a long term plan doesn’t make sense at all.
