Leafs have no cap for Soup, even retained . Bringing back Domi is preferred

I could see a Mikheyev for Fabbro deal working for Nashville. Replaces Zucker and/or Beauvillier who they might lose to FA with a better defensive forward who can hopefully not be as cursed by hockey gods this year.

Quick question @AK50 , how torn are you with this round 1 series on the go?

I don't think NSH would have any trouble re-signing either/both of those players, and I'd be shocked if they'd have to pay either as much as Mikheyev is making.

True they may be cheaper but with the kids coming up for them they may prefer a better defensive player for Fabbro who wasn't playing until an injury. Van could add to them was just base off possible deal.

NSH has multiple forwards in the A that are either NHL ready, or on the cusp of being so. Can't say the same about their current RD prospects. NSH will have more holes to fill on RD too, with Barrie (and possibly Carrier) not returning.

It's been a bit perplexing why Brunette scratched Fabbro so much, but he plays well with Josi. A guy who can play on the top defense pair is a lot more useful than a $4.75M depth forward, IMO. Especially when NSH already has several vet defensive forwards in the mix (Sissons, McGrattan, Smith, Jankowski).

Fair enough, I'll admit I was assuming from the fact they sat Fabbro for the beginning of the series. Sounds more like Nashville would be interested in Hronek if he prices himself out of Vancouver but not sure.

Hronek could be a possibility. Personally, I'd prefer to bring in a little more size, given how VAN's players have been pushing NSH around this series. Zadorov has been manhandling everyone. Someone on the Preds has to make Joshua think twice about the hits to the numbers he's been dishing out.

Don’t see why the Canucks do either deal

    Raty > Fabbro, 2nd > Parssinen, 5th > nothing

Mikheyev with retention probably gets some value in return

Very. Most painful series ever. Basically just rooting for home team. But hey, at least one of my teams are moving on to round 2.

Yeah, I feel for Fabbro. I feel he’s a likely trade candidate cuz who would be happy being scratched every night when you play well?
