Don't see how the Flames say no, exactly what they're looking for in my opinion. He's big, hits, blocks shots and can play a lot of minutes.

McNabb or a D like him is definitely a need for CGY. The value is more than fair for the Flames. You're probably even a 2nd short. That said, I doubt he waives his NTC to come here.

I also doubt that the Flames would want to spend assets on a stopgap player(unless they could flip him) rather than addressing it by overpaying in free agency. Tanev, Brodie, Martinez, DeMelo, Roy, Dillon all could be options for the Flames if they agree to 3 years or less, at a higher caphit.

PS: some of these UFA signings are ridiculously low. Roy probably gets around $5M x 4. I could see Marchessault getting $7M x 5-7 (the Kadri contract).

That's exactly why I doubt Vegas would trade him, at least for that little. On most nights, he is this teams most reliable defenseman.

Yeah I don't see it happening, his contracts too good for Vegas for what he brings.

Calgary is going into a rebuild why would they give up a 2nd rounder for a 1 million year old McNabb.

Vegas isn’t giving up McNabb for anything while he’s on that contract.

They need to maximize their cap space for when they put Stone on LTIR just before the trade deadline.
