Time to Compete
I do think that will be the future top4 in the ideal Habs scenario.
I don't think Strubble, Xhekaj and Barron would stick around to play the 5-7 D role, they'd probably be traded or ask to be moved to try for a bigger role on another team.
I also think the Habs need some vets upfront at the very least in the bottom6 and not just as scratches.

need a goalie
Don't hate the offer but, I don't think Calgary would look to trade him in the division unless they have no other offers
At his cap hit and the minutes he's been playing in Minny, you could argue Middleton is worth a 1st, especially if you get him for a whole season

Oilers
If Edmonton makes the final and Broberg keeps playing well, I think they'll let Desharnais walk or trade Kulak\Ceci
It's probably also either Foegle or Henrique unlikely both since Henrique is worth 3ish mil
Holloway being the 4th line center does Edmonton no favors, he should either be up the lineup or traded for a player they think can actually help

If I'm Seattle I consider a 1 for 1 Bjorkstrand and Cirelli deal I wouldn't give up the higher pick.
Cernak has a full no trade until like 2027 or something so unless he loves Ottawa he's staying

I think both trades have Merit. I don't think you need to give up that much for Karlsson maybe Geekie a 2nd and a 3rd?

Options to move Graves IMO
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Anus_McLeod</b></div><div>Graves and Manson have the exact same cap hit, so it doesn't increase the issue in Colorado.
I also think the Pens need to try and compete so long as Sid, Geno, etc. are around. And here they don't get a bad contract but rather a useful player who is worth around the second on his own. I can understand not loving it but to me it's significantly better than ending up with Kotkaniemi, Anderson, or Gallagher.</div></div>
I thought Manson was at 4.4 and Graves is 4.5 small difference maybe I was wrong.
Nichushkin is "bad" because he could be dead money for Colorado since suspended players still count on the cap.
And fair enough

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Anus_McLeod</b></div><div>I know you said you don't want to give up picks, but how about Graves and one of the 2nd rounders for Manson? I don't think the Nichushkin trade makes sense (at least at the moment), as there are to many unknowns and too much trade protection.</div></div>
Pitt needs picks, they tried competing last year and it failed also, Colorado needs cap space and getting Graves for Manson would raise it increasing the problem.

Options to move Graves IMO
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SK101</b></div><div>Jackets would prefer gudbranson over graves. He did well on the third pair and provides grit and leadership for the young players</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>Is the goal <em>just </em>to dump Graves, or is the goal to push for the playoffs again?
If it's just to dump Graves, I don't know that Columbus makes sense with Werenski, Mateychuk, and likely Svozil being on the left side long-term, and Provorov and Bean still here for the time being.
However...if the goal is to push for the playoffs, I'd offer Provorov half-retained for Graves and a top-15 protected 1st. PIT gets a reliable upgrade, gets out of a contract, and protects the pick on the chance they don't make the playoffs (though it probably hurts more if they miss again and it slides to 2026). Columbus gets an expensive but useful bottom-pairing guy, opens up a roster spot for him or Mateychuk, and gets a premium asset to do so.</div></div>
Not a Pitt fan I was just seeing a lot of ACGMs with Pitt trading him after a down year for a 2nd rounder or something and it seemed crazy to me.
I also think Pitt tried making the playoffs last year and gave up picks and it didn't work and they should just be trying to maximize their roster.
As for Keeping Gudbranson and the in coming Mateychuk and Svozil, CBJ also has the RHD to think about this year, Jiricek should've been in the NHL over Peeke, Blankenburg and Boqvist so I was clearing a spot on the Right and I don't think either LHD are playing in the NHL next year so having Graves wouldn't be "awful" for them but, I'd understand why CBJ would say no

Going to the ship
Nashville has Saros and Askarov even if it's just moving 20ish spots in the draft why would Nashville do that?
Flames also won't move a player on the rise for a player coming of a bad year on a bad deal, if Pitt wants to move on from Graves it would need to be a bad contract swap like Gudbranson in CBJ
Not enough to get Necas and even if it was enough, the Canes can't afford 5mil if they want to keep the rest of the top guys

The contracts are low reports are Canes are doing everything to keep Guentzel if a 500K increase was all it took he'd be signed already, he's probably going to get paid the same as Aho
Jarvis might sign at 6 but if he does it would be 2-3yr bridge if he was going for 6-8yrs he'd almost certainly ask for closer to 8mil
Long term Necas seems right but, reports say he's low priority for the Canes

Yeah I know Canes have a cap crunch themselves and taking Hill at full salary would be tough, a 4th would probably get 1-2mil in retention but, think it would be Carolina that pays it since they are getting the "better" current goalie

Vegas probably considers moving almost anybody than Eichel, Pietrangelo and Hanifin IMO

My theory on Stamkos not resigning in Tampa is that Brisebois is refusing to give him the full NMC and term Stamkos wants to finish his career, he tried to trade him after the 1st cup and probably wants to have that option on any extention he's offered him
Probably not getting anything positive for Sheary and will probably need to give up at least a 4th to move him, pretty sure most teams in the league hate\dislike Tampa for going to 3 straight finals and winning 2

Even without Marner they probably won't be able to bring back Stephenson and Marchessault is a long shot too

Carolina needs all the cap space they can get if they want to keep Guentzel and Jarvis.
They can't take on Anderson.
They could maybe take on Armia and Kovacevic but even that would be unlikely
Caroline n'est pas capable d'absorber le contrat d'Anderson s'ils veulent garder Guentzel et Jarvis
