If it's just to dump Graves, I don't know that Columbus makes sense with Werenski, Mateychuk, and likely Svozil being on the left side long-term, and Provorov and Bean still here for the time being.

However...if the goal is to push for the playoffs, I'd offer Provorov half-retained for Graves and a top-15 protected 1st. PIT gets a reliable upgrade, gets out of a contract, and protects the pick on the chance they don't make the playoffs (though it probably hurts more if they miss again and it slides to 2026). Columbus gets an expensive but useful bottom-pairing guy, opens up a roster spot for him or Mateychuk, and gets a premium asset to do so.</div></div>

Not a Pitt fan I was just seeing a lot of ACGMs with Pitt trading him after a down year for a 2nd rounder or something and it seemed crazy to me.
I also think Pitt tried making the playoffs last year and gave up picks and it didn't work and they should just be trying to maximize their roster.
As for Keeping Gudbranson and the in coming Mateychuk and Svozil, CBJ also has the RHD to think about this year, Jiricek should've been in the NHL over Peeke, Blankenburg and Boqvist so I was clearing a spot on the Right and I don't think either LHD are playing in the NHL next year so having Graves wouldn't be "awful" for them but, I'd understand why CBJ would say no
