Wild want a proven top 6 center move up at draft floor
Nelson for the future second is probably fair, but you haven't considered Minnesota's cap situation. Nelson's $6 million hit brings the Wild right to the line with only 21 players on the roster.

I suppose that this is an effort to be funny, like our proposing that Danny Briere trade Owen Tippett and your 2024 first for Pierre-Luc DuBois, but I don't know what provoked it. Was it the loss to the Rangers?

I just looked at your other pick swap after <a href="/users/odyssey" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@odyssey</a>'s accurate comment, and it appears to me that you're not familiar with a draft-pick value chart. So here's an ACGM by one of CapFriendly's best numbers crunchers that should be interesting to you:

Note the links to two such charts at the end of the long introduction/explanation.

You're way, way off on the Ottawa pick swap. The difference between the Boston first and the Edmonton third plus Dallas sixth is a late 2024 first, not a late 2025 second.
Moreover, Ottawa needs quality, not quantity.

Anaheim won't be trading Trevor Zegras for the 2024 Winnipeg first and what will probably be the 2025 Florida first. Barron is of little interest to us and Newhook no interest at all.

Leafs
Signing Bertuzzi and Pesce is a good idea but that's a lot of term to give them.
Los Angeles will give Arvidsson a better offer than that, even for a show-me one-season deal. (I think that they'll offer him at least $ million for 3 seasons.) The amounts on all the other UFAs seem realistic.
Still a good-looking team even with only 21 players on the roster. But I think that you need a 7th defenseman more than you need Colton Sissons.

Marner
I think that Matt Roy and Brett Pesce both get substantially more, both in money and term (probably 5 seasons for each).
Viktor Arvidsson is coming off an injury-interrupted year, so I don't expect him to get a raise. If he takes a show-me one-season deal, it'll probably be for about $3.5 million.
The Marner trade is more realistic than most of your Toronto colleagues offer. But I'm still convinced that the Maple Leafs won't trade him.
The players you've added or re-signed certainly make sense. Good ideas!

If you're dying to have a RhD, wouldn't it be better to keep your assets and wait for Parekh or Yakemchuk or even Jiricek at #11? (My mock has you taking Yakemchuk there.)

And so now you want to be intellectually dishonest by moving the goalposts.
Your original statement was the absolute "That trade in no way benefits the leafs." "<strong>No way</strong>." Now you want to shrink backwards to "that trade is bad for the Leafs because they don't get enough value."
Why don't you try to surprise us all, including <a href="/users/Ryminister_92" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Ryminister_92</a>, by occasionally making an intellectually honest, non-homer comment?

Your usual homerism mixed with an abject lack of insight.
1. Toronto gets out of the 2024-2025 burden of Marner's cap hit and the even bigger burden of Marner's extension, which would cost more than Nylander's.
2. Toronto gets a defense prospect with the upside of Reilly who's only 21 years old and light years better than any defense prospect in the Toronto pipeline.

I believe in PLD
1. Los Angeles can't afford Mitch Marner in 2024-2025, especially since this trade ADDS about $2.4 million in cap to an already cap-stressed team.
2. Los Angeles doesn't need another top-2 RW with Adrian Kempe and Kevin Fiala there and Quinton Byfield and Trevor Moore at LW. Marner is an unaffordable upgrade at a position where we're fine.
3. Los Angeles can't afford Mitch Marner in 2025-2026 and thereafter.
4. Los Angeles can't afford to trade Brandt Clarke because there's no internal replacement for him.
5. As usual, this Marner trade only makes sense for the Maple Leafs. It's much harder than it seems to construct a trade that benefits the other team at a reasonable cost.

LA has ZERO elite talent. Byfield will become that, Spence could become that but Fiala and Moore definetly are not that. Marner is.</div></div>
Absolutely true. Los Angeles definitely needs at least one elite talent in the forecourt and one in goal. (The Kings front office is convinced that Clarke will replace Doughty as the elite defender.) Making Marner the forward elite talent crowds out the resources necessary to add the other.

Big Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fangm</b></div><div>That a 100 point winger, top 10 goalie and top 10 LHD prospect that you are turning away for two middle 6 forwards (skilled but one dimensional), a one way high end RHD prospect (when you already have two solidified top 4 RHD including a 23 year old with the exact same skillset as Clarke) and a borderline waiver player (Turcotte can't clear waivers next year, are you really sure he'd make the Kings and won't just be given away?)</div></div>
Let's put aside the fact that the intentional mischaracterization of Kevin Fiala and Trevor Moore as "two middle 6 forwards (skilled but one dimensional)" is intellectually dishonest. You still seem incapable of grasping the reality proven by Toronto's last 6 years' experiment: a 100-point forward isn't more productive or beneficial than a 73-point forward plus a 57-point forward, and that's not the way to construct a winning roster, especially when the two top-6 forwards equal the cap hits of the 100-point forward and a minimum-level-contract player to fill the other roster slot.
No, Los Angeles isn't including Brandt Clarke in a Marner (or Nylander) trade despite your obsession (<strong>TWENTY-SIX</strong> out of your last 33 ACGMs have included such an effort!), Los Angeles isn't including Brandt Clarke in a Saros trade, Los Angeles isn't including Trevor Moore in a Marner or Saros trade, and Fiala's NMC precludes him from being included in a Marner or Saros trade (even if Nashville wants him back -- a point which you didn't seem to notice). If giving up so many current roster players for Marner and Saros is such a good idea, why don't you trade us Matthews and Nylander, too, for the rest of our good players so we can look exactly like the Toronto Maple Leafs of 2016 - 2024?

Unbiased on either side
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>Marner just is hated on this site eh?</div></div>
Oh, I don't think so. The only people I can recall speaking badly about him are Toronto fans who blame him for the latest playoff exit -- indisputably unfairly, in my mind.
I repeat what I've said before -- the main antipathy of other teams' fans to a Marner trade isn't because they think that his trade value is too low but that it's <strong>too high</strong> for their team to pay.
Let's assume that Marner came with an 8-year $100 million extension. What would his trade value from Anaheim be? Two of Zegras Gauthier Carlsson McTavish Terry Mintyukov 2024 first? No, thanks. (Never mind that it would cost more.) How about Los Angeles? Unless you're willing to take DuBois, a similar roster-stripping would have to occur.
Unless the return is commensurate with a rental (current first, A roster player, A prospect), I don't see a trade for Marner that benefits both sides adequately.

Ah, yes, the unhealthy Brandt-Clarke-for-Mitch-Marner-or-I'll-die obsession. What is this, the tenth time you've proposed it?
Still not happening.
I'd be surprised if Nashville wanted Kevin Fiala back, but if they do, I can see him being the centerpiece of a Juuse Saros trade. He won't be accompanied by our leading goal scorer and local boy Trevor Moore, though.
Trading Mitch Marner only to sign Sam Reinhart short-term for $11.5 million. As Tallyrand said of the Bourbons, they have learned nothing and forgotten nothing.

All three teams decline. Carolina isn't adding two firsts to Necas for Marner, nobody will give you more than a sixth for 7th-defenseman Timmins and two picks including a third for Kampf is wildly optimistic.

Pavel Mintyukov, Olen Zellweger, Jackson LaCombe, Urho Vaakanainen, Tyson Hinds and now Rodwin Dionicio render Sean Behrens utterly redundant, and the 2024 first doesn't have much wow power inasmuch as we own the Edmonton first, which will be either the pick immediately before yours or the pick 5 slots later. As a result, that offer for Frankie Vatrano would be declined.

Lets make this work
I think that the idea that Farrell and Harris together have the value that Romanov had when he was traded for #13 overall is . . . optimistic.
As <a href="/users/Ujeje" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Ujeje</a> says, Philly needs top-end talent, not complementary roster players. If Eiserman is on the board at #12, the Flyers will joyfully take him.
