Chychrun is starting to feel like PLD 2.0 player is one of the better players on a bad team (CBJ/ARI) forces his way out to another team. Then within 24 months is pushing to get to a 3rd team.
I say this and I liked the idea of Chychrun coming to the leafs, but now Im hesitant.

I like the trade to the Leafs. As much as I want to see Cowan play and be cost controlled, a 4.5mill Andersson for the next couple of seasons and has already proven to be able to play at the NHL level. I also don't mind Markstrom with the retention as a good 1B/1A goalie.
The biggest hold up on this trade is I don't know if Calgary is willing to trade with Toronto (Treliving)

Developing a competitive team
I like don't think the trade package with Toronto is bad. I would like to have a good goalie. I know Toronto is looking for a goalie, but I don't understand why Nashville willing to lose Saros. Was there a report that he was unwilling to resign? I know Askarov looks great, but I wouldn't hang the team on him before he has any real time at the NHL level.

Re-tooling Forward group
I'm not fully convinced that Ullmark is worth a 1st rounder. But I could be wrong (goalies historically haven't had as much trade value). That being said I would like him on the leafs. I'm curious if Boston fans would accept sending him to a divisional opponent.
As for the rest of the roster, I think the UFA deals for Lindholm and Stephenson might be on the low end. I think Lindholm would go for 7-8 mill.

If they cant move Marner
In regards to Kampf I think moving a player with a 10 team NTC is much easier to move then you think. As I mentioned in his trade it doesn't need to be San Jose, there are teams looking for NHler's. Chicago paid 4 mil for Perry and Dickinson and Folingo.
I'm not a fan of Lagesson being in the top 6, He just worked well with Benoit.
As for the 20 man roster, there is $700k in cap space, leafs get to week 2 of the season and they can pull up an additional player or you get a slightly better deal on any of the signings.
Oh you said too much term for luby and Wennberg. That is an error on luby, he should only be a 2 year deal. Wennberg being a 5 year deal at 29 is likely where it's going to be regardless if it's with Toronto or somewhere else.

I do think Pesce is a little overrated, but the other names you gave I have concerns with as well. Tanev is getting up there in age and I rather focus on getting a player that can stick around for a bit. Walker isn't a bad option, I just don't know if he would be a good partner for Reilly. Reilly clearly plays better with a more stay at home defencemen. I don't know enough of Demelo's game to really comment on it.

I was looking at Vlassic as a part of the trade for Marner, but I thought Chicago fans would pounce on me for that. (If I include Vlassic then there are some changes in the defence group) I do you can get a better return for a Marner trade with an extension, but frankly the number of people that with reply with. "______ declines" with no input on how to adjust the trade to be more balanced.

Unlikely
He is a worst version of Marner. I was looking for a decent Top 6 Center that is a bit of a playmaker and has a much lower cap hit.
The change in cap hit allows for some money to improve the defence

To be fair, you don't have to post on every one.
A few thoughts on the build. A few free agents might be under paid (Duchene, Wheeler and Mayfield), that being said nobody seems to have much cap space on contending teams so who knows.
The Murray trade is fine, it might not be Arizona as they don't like playing people, but a rebuilding team would take the deal and buyout Murray to get the picks.|
I think your selling low on Timmins, I would imagine they could get more for him (Young RHD signed to a low amount). Also if you are trying to get rid of the cap hit, you could place him as a non-rostered player. I think currently players making 1.15mil or less can have the full cap hit buried.
As for the Karlson trade, the package is likely more than enough for him. I know he had a fantastic season this year and would love to have him on the team, however, you can't ignore the elephant in the room, that is his age, prior injuries and large cap hit for the next 4 years. Also, I doubt the sharks would be willing to retain that much on him, as they said they didn't want to retain more than 2mil on him. But I get the feeling they might a little more than that.
As for the Nylander trade, I would like to see a little more in return. I get the value of a gritty forward and a big def, but I feel you can get one of the big D in FA. My other thought is the wild are really up against the cap this season and next, making Nylander harder to resign.
Also note that I could be 100% wrong on all of things I've written. Good job, making a good team I do like the Defence and the 1st, 3rd and 4th forward lines.

I would imagine that a half priced Nylander could bring in a large haul of picks and/or prospects at the TDL. Holding on to TK doesn't help the rebuild either, considering they aren't likely going to be finished the rebuild by the end of this season. At least you get a 1st and 2nd plus whatever Nylander brings.

I do see a chance that the Leafs just get squeezed into a tight cap next year with all 4, then resign Tavares to a lower deal opening up cap for the rest of the roster in 25-26. I don't expect the fan base to accept that year 24-25 roster.

He has a 10 team NTC, not sure which teams are on it. I wouldn't be surprised if Arizona is on it. But the deal could be similarly structured to another team if needed.

The pairing wasn't a reflection on Orlov being better than Rielly. I agree Rielly is the better player. Just the pairing overall might be better that way as I don't see Schenn getting top pairing minutes.

I agree that Bertuzzi should be getting more, I thought it was too low as well. I don't really see Orlov getting 8, he's not really a #1 Dman. But a really good #2 that is 32 years old. So I can see him going for more than 6.3, but I would be surprised if he got more than 7. Most competitive teams either have a strong D-core or don't have that much cap space for him. That being said Orlov could land on a rising team (Buffalo, Ottawa etc).

Generally my concern for bunting is that he gets in trouble with the refs a little too much and I think Bertuzzi is a little more physical. Both are decent point guys that annoy the other team.

Perhaps I'm under estimating Anderssons value, but I would assume the top 25 scorer over the last 3 season would have a higher value.
