The Sabres need three solid scoring lines and a menacing fourth line. I would be okay having a 2CA, 2LWA, and 2RWA as the third line.

The Sabres have the cap space to spend. They will need to be quicker in obtaining the best players in order to win now.

Yes. Ruff is a solid coach. He does not have the shenanigans of a toxic front office during his first stint.

Samuelsson needs a complete 2024-2025 season to prove himself to be in the Sabres' long term plans. Having an injury history in a short career to date is concerning. If I were the Sabres, I would acquire a defenseman similar to Samuelsson who makes Samuelsson expendable.

How the pens should look
Jarry is a good goaltender. He may not be the goaltender the Penguins need right now. The situation could be similar to Matt Murray in 2020.
If Jarry is exported from the Penguins, then the Penguins need to find an answer for at least two seasons.

Darcy Regier could make that move. That could be another reason why someone disappeared from the National Hockey League.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JokiStan</b></div><div>Ruff is a fine hire imo. Not necessarily who I wanted (Evason was being criminally underrated as a candidate imo) but I think he will at the very least bring some accountability and tough love to the team</div></div>
Ruff is a good coach. He could have had better teams, made more postseason appearances, and made a conference or Stanley Cup final during his first stint with the Sabres. The general manager at the time ran a bad operation and made many bad decisions. The Adams-Ruff tandem should do better than the Regier-Ruff tandem.
Ruff holds players accountable. If players do not score for stretches or take games off intentionally, they get benched and identified as available trade bait.

Dismissing coaches is something to do tomorrow. I noticed Sullivan spoke to the media during locker clean out today. I would expect something from Dubas after he makes the decision to fire Sullivan and/or Reirden. Reirden should be all but gone at this point.
