Really weird to do this before the draft and give up #61 to move up a combined 6 spots (from 54 to 50 and 20 to 18)

Fair deal, McDonagh was solid in Nashville and knows the Tampa org/system well, Nashville gets assets. What I don't get is how Tampa thinks they can afford McDonagh

Well, Vancouver apart from Silovs didn’t really show up for most of the game, unreal playoff run by Silovs.
Now please, someone eliminate NYR, I couldn’t care less about the rest, just no NYR cup

Vancouver has a though choice about who starts game 7, do you keep Silovs? Is Demko ready to start? Do you play Desmith? That choice could decide game 7

(BOS/NJD) - Haula for Zacha
Well both teams ended up with a solid player, Bruins have turned Zacha into a top 6 player while Haula has been in NJ a good middle 6 presence, it seems like both teams got what they hoped out of this trade

Best bit about this explanation by the NHL is the fact it doesn't explain anything. The rule used here is not broken in any way.
Looks like the tweet icon doesn't work anymore.</div></div>
Well Duchene does interfere a bit with Georgiev (part Duchene, part Makar’s fault, they both played a part in Georgiev being out of position), however Duchene’s out of the crease so theoretically it shouldn’t matter that he interfered

Why are you paying a 1st AND 2nd for Pospisil? that's a massive overpayment, especially when you stick him on the 4th line

Nichushkin, as part of exiting the assistance program earlier in the year likely had a plan he had to follow to stay out of the program and one of the conditions was likely don't take drugs and we'll drug test you to make sure you don't, he failed it so he gets back into the program, doesn't have to be anything illegal, just has to violate the conditions of his previous exit of the program

Did Val just fix the cap issue
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffW</b></div><div>Well the story I read said he failed a drug test and was placed in the assistance program, sooo couldn't they terminate his contract based on the crime he committed by using drugs. (Similar to Mike richards) or even keep him on the LTIR for the entire season since his suspension is for a minimum of 6 months.</div></div>
Taking drugs probably doesn’t violate a standard NHL contract, especially if it’s a legal drug he’s taking. Also the Avs aren’t in control of his suspension length, the NHL Assistance program is so they will decide when Nichushkin can come back (which is as early as mid-November), the Avs should be prepared for all eventualities which means they should be prepared to get Nichushkin back in the early season, even if he might not necessarily be back then

No, because Nichushkin could return around mid-November, Colorado has to plan for Nichushkin to come back at that time (unless they have information that suggests otherwise)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CantStopWontStop</b></div><div>I think perhaps this is more detailed than necessary.
While the league itself is not cashing checks directly from me for my desire to watch McDavid, the financial performance of the league’s various stakeholders is the sum of its parts over the short, medium, and long term. Individual season financials are just as important, dollar for dollar, as 20 year franchise values are just as important as supplier agreements for merchandise are just as important as broadcast rights licensing.
It’s just much easier to say McDavid makes the league lots of money than to actually break down the specific ways that this occurs and who specifically benefits. Ultimately, McDavid is a funnel for many of the ways the stakeholders of the nhl make money. It is in more than edmontons best interest that he is able to play hockey and not recovering from a broken jaw due to face cross check. Some of those interests hit a balance sheet today, others are part of equations used when signing future contracts.</div></div>

You certainly don't understand the structure of these leagues
The individual teams make or lose money. The league doesn't The "league" is just an "administrator" of the rules.</div></div>
You certainly don’t understand what revenue sharing is or that the NHL is the ownership groups of each team
