Good deal for Calgary. Robertson gets a bad wrap…but NHL skill for sure.

I have a hard time imagining Berube being impressed by the under sized injury prone Robertson who'll have to make the team or get lost on waivers.

In short stints Robertson has shown the desire/grit/heart/talent to be a top 6 forward but also looks lost and gets caught floating in stretches too.

There are teams that are looking for cheap offensive skill at forward position. Islanders perhaps. Nashville is rearranging their group to include more skill. Colorado needs a Drouin replacement (cheap AAV). Maybe not speedy enough for their system. Pittsburgh wants more youth, maybe Dubas takes him.

Robertson can skate and shoot but he'd be a better fit on a different team.

Berube will want players with size who impose their will and are tough to play against.

Just tossing his name because Tre traded for him when he was the Flames GM.

It's a shame Dubas allowed Brazeau go to free agency.

If he is a B's style forward than for sure he'd be a Berube favorite too.

Calgary doesn't want little Nicky.

Maybe Berube has this tough guy image from his playing days…and I think it leaves people with this impression that he is anti-skill or something. But the Blues forwards were not a big, mean, push-you-around group. Nor were his Flyers. There were plenty of smaller skilled guys in both lineups.

Schenn, Schwarz, Perron, Thomas, etc…some goonery. (Barbarashev, Maroon getting 10 minutes a night is not convincing anyone either…so don’t bother)

It was a deep, veteran lineup. They weren’t soft, but weren’t broad street bullies either.

Anyone thinks Berube walks into Leafs clubhouse, in sheepskins with caveman club…and jettisons all the skill off roster for a bunch goons…I have a bridge to sell you.
