Marner and Tavares arent waiving

Created by: HShockey
Team: 2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 19, 2024
Published: May 18, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The time to deal Marner was last season, when he was coming off a selke nomination; a career year and a solid playoff performance and his NMC hadn't kicked in. Now, you'd get half the value you would've last year; and it wouldn't make you a better team long-term.

Backlund probably isn't waiving either.

Vladar is good option, if he is healthy and the Flames have faith in Wolfe or want to tank next season by trading both Markstrom and Vladar and use career jouneyman backup goalies to insure they get a Top 3 pick next summer in the Draft.

Provorov is exactly who they should pluck I agree. That and a pesce, roy, demelo in FA. If they run it back I like this. Backlund won't get dealt IMO though, maybe a Scott Laughton

wild don't need a 4th liner & aren't paying a price to land him. Respectfully, it's a No.

Id like Laughton, but I’d try to pry Frost from them. Good two way forward who could pop off with an elite winger (Marner or Willy)

Provorov is definitely someone we should target, tantalizing offensively and blocks shots, logs minutes in all situations. I would think he doesn’t cost much either

You don't know Jarnrok obviously, he is not a 4th liner, he is a utility player (play anywhere in the lineup), he can be a short term top 6 forward if needed.

Respectfully.

No way the Leafs get Provorov after his anti Pride day display.

The Toronto community will oppose him too strongly.

By and large I'm inclined to say that this is not enough for Provorov retained; we'd expect a late 1st for him at the deadline for such a scenario.

But I won't deny that there's a part of me that's thinking "sure, why the heck not, the UMich->CBJ pipeline has been pretty damn good to us so far".

Well wild don’t want or need him! They have plenty players like him. Yeah, he’s a bottom line player like duhaime or Hartman or foligno who can move up
