He's not moving. If he does that offer is easily getting beat, no offense.

PLD trade would maybe work if Gallagher was 50% retained I doubt they do that deal for 2.5 extra mil next season and only a 1.5 mil relief after, late first doesn't make that much of a difference.

Tkachuk would be awesome but, Habs have a young D-Core that will be getting younger and less experienced for the next 2 years with Hudson and maybe Mailloux next year and Reinbacher probably the year after. Losing sucks but trying to rush could ruin the team long term, I'd stick with the top 5 pick 2026-27 is still the ideal starting point to really compete.

What offer do you think wins a Tkachuk trade?

Swap Dvorak for Evans?

Maybe since it gives them some extra cap for a goalie but, Gally's 6.5 is still the bigger issue. Kopitar and Doughty both said they have no desire for a rebuild so if they picked up Gally at full salary that would be Rob Blake confirming a rebuild IMO and trading away your 2 biggest players in franchise history (not named Gretzky) since neither will want to stay

Taking on Gallagher is the issue here, not Dvorak.

Just as bad, maybe they'd take Armia.

not for that. it’s pretty incredibly rare that we see players of that calibre get traded while still with significant years left on a reasonable contract without any sort of major injury concern or anything like that. on top of this being to a divisional rival, the price would need to be beyond exorbitant to make Ottawa bawk

Is that a deal you truly execute though? You'd consider this "overpay enough" to make the swap?

I think the Sens would be looking for like Marchenko + 4th overall, or Nemec and a pick type of return.

From Montreal, has to be a top line player, 1st and A level prospect. But if I'm MTL I'm not doing that. Either way, I highly doubt the sens move Tkachuk.

Hell, I would even sweeten the deal with like a 2nd in 2026.

I don’t think it is terrible for Ottawa. Marchenko is very good and hasn’t even reached his potential yet. And the 4OA is a very good pick. It would put Ottawa in a prime position to snag 2 potential cornerstone D-men at 4 and 8. Actually that sounds really good.

If you want Ottawa to seriously consider trading Tkachuk to Montreal, you will offer at least THREE of the following:

Caufield
Suzuki
Slafkovsky
Reinbacher
#5 overall
The Monahan pick from Winnipeg
The Monahan pick from Calgary

You are expecting too much. You know full well you would never get Fantilli.
