I voted Stiga but based off recent history the pick will either be Yakemchuk or MBN.
Don't think they go Yak honestly. He's clearly not the best D on the board, and they don't really have a bunch of LDs, so Buium will be the pick if they go for D. However, they go legitimately go for any forward I put on the poll, and they would all be decent to good picks imo.
Among their prospects and younger players, they're missing someone to drive offence from the back end. Buium has the best chance of being that guy. Plus, I honestly think he's the BPA here, I have him 4th in my rankings currently.

Centres are another need.
We have Bruz. He’s almost matched Parakhs offensive output this season, and has potential to be that guy on the blueline. That being said I do agree, especially since the 2025 draft has quite a few forwards of interest from what I’ve seen.
If Iginla doesn't end up in MTL he's the blatantly obvious pick here. Don't see this one being Buium though, they've been burned before by Americans and they're looking better on D than F. Think this one would be either Sennecke or Catton, but I have them taking the latter
You might be able to get him in the 2nd round ? I haven’t seen a single mock draft where Stiga is in the top 32. Could be the Cristall of the draft
Recently, he's been in the 1st round of most to all the people who know the prospects more than just the top 15. He's been rising, and rightfully so. Some great skill sets on that guy. He's 13th on my board right now. Overlooked only because he is slightly undersized

You bring up a good point about American players. It might be a stretch to expect a kid from California to want to spend their career in Calgary.
oops I made a whole comment here saying why the flames would pick iginla only for someone to tell me that in this mock draft montrel already took him im blind lmao

Fair enough. I thought Yakemchuk because he plays in Calgary's backyard and he has size, something that Calgary values a lot while drafting. Their only two good undersized prospects would be Zary and Coronato.
My three options would be:
1. Stiga
2. Catton (based off recent history I don't think they will pick him, but he can drive his own line)
3. MBN

Iginla could go to Ottawa, that very well could happen.
If there is no vote soon, Random number. If they was 1 player I voted for, I would have taken the other player, but in this case, I didn’t vote for either

Undersized wasn’t his only issue. Glorifying a player bc he had a good U18 tournament is a little crazy. Idk if I even have him as a top 15 forward in this draft. I have Luchanko rated higher. I never understand why people make BOLD reaches with great picks. Like if you have the 20oa or later sure risk it but to 15 picks making a reach like this is silly. Connelly and Hage are arguably just as good if not better. Either way to each their own. I guess time will tell on him.
