Description

It seems all but certain that Shanahan will remain President of Hockey Operations of the Toronto Maple Leafs as he will be talking to the media along side Keith Pelley and Brad Treliving on Friday. Keefe still remains a question and im 50/50 if he goes or not. If he does get let go Berube, Woodcroft, Gallant or Evason will be the likely replacement as established coaches in this league.

Truly the core has to be broken up. There is no sugar coating it that this has been going on far to long and that it is time to fix it, even Shanahan should be let go but Pelley seems to want a full year to evaluate him as he steps into being new MLSE president. Although us fans of the Maple Laughs wish to see Shanahan, Keefe, Marner and Tavares go I highly doubt such drastic changes will be made. Instead moves to retain some key members and revamp the blue line and a new goalie seem to be the direction this team is heading.

Edmundson won’t be that expensive, probably 2,5 millions would be more than enough especially with a 3 years term

Edmundson contract is way too much, he's awful at moving the puck and ices it like crazy. He's quite slow as well, not sure any money at 3 years makes much sense but some GM will probably throw it at him.

I may be wrong but I don't think Pelley's responsibilities are on the hockey side of things. At any rate, he's probably acutely aware that theyve exhausted all the tinkering options they could. Granted they were, like in half of their other series losses, exactly one shot away from advancing, but it's much harder to sell fans on that now. New HC will likely get a different make up to the team to ensure they hit the ground running.

I wish such was true, I do like him as a shut down guy he hits well and block a ton of shots. Yes there are bad giveaways and he’s not quick or amazing at moving the puck, but look what Justin Holl got last year, team were offering $3M + a year and he ended up getting $3.4M for 3 years. He is far far much better than Holl who can’t do any of the things Edmundson does. So I see him getting a deal like this

That’s a fair assessment. I won’t argue that at all. If we can keep him for like 2 years at $2M a year I would be ecstatic, just concerned over Trelivings love for guys like Edmundson
