Matvei Petrov Scouting Report

Pure offense. Petrov has good size and excellent puck skill. He is a prolific scorer at the Major Junior level. There is ton's of cheat in his game in all three zones, however, and he will need to get more dialed in defensively at some point in his development. Historically, he's had massive stats and impact in regular season. When games get closer checking (Playoffs - World Championships) he has to find a way to push through checks and provide, at least, reliable detail off the puck. If he, eventually, provides average attention to detail (and keeps playing to his element offensively) he has a chance to be an NHL player
