They have no reason to reach on the next best RD here, which is probably Adam Jiricek, whos ranked in the late teens/early 20s. They get two RDs in Barron and Konyushkov, who could become that second pair guy. The Habs can afford to move on from those guys considering they already have David Reinbacher as well as Logan Mailloux who can play top 4 minutes soon. They also are in a range where lots of defensemen are available when they need forwards, so they move up and select centre Michael Hage. | |

I think that the right pick here is Konsta Helenius, because it gives the Sharks another top six player to work with. They do need defensemen, so if a trade comes up where a team offers a defenseman for the pick, they should definitely take it. | |

They need immediate help if they want to get out of their mediocrity, and Crouse gives them that. Crouse doesn't really have a top six spot with Utah in the future, so they swap him for a draft pick, which they pick BPA with. | |
