pulling up to Lysell Lane

Description
Even as a Lysell believer its fair to say that its basically now or never for him in a Bruins uniform, I truly believe he's got the skill to be a top 6 winger in the NHL. He had a good first pro season but he really turned it up in his second and I believe he's ready to make the jump, a bit like DeBrusk did all those years ago. Most will have Poitras in the top 9 and thats more than fair I just feel like he could use a bit of time in Providence after coming off his surgery now that he's eligible. Best case scenario he plays 4-5 games and dominates a bit like Heinen did in 17-18 and forces his way back up. If Lysell proves he can hang then Geekie moves down to fit Poitras in the top 9, if not just do a straight swap. I put DiPietro in there cause I feel like people are sleeping on him but whoever does best in camp out of those two gets the spot, simple as. Also Ian Cole is kind of just a placeholder, any defensive minded left handed vet would do because I really wasnt impressed by Wotherspoon in the playoffs and I'm a bit scared his purple patch might be over.

Trades
1.
BOS
  1. 2024 7th round pick (CGY)
SEA
  1. Lauko, Jakub
Additional Details:
The Jakub Lauko experiment has to end, brings energy and good vibes but not particularly good at the sport of hockey unfortunately. If you can get any sort of asset for him in return thats a win.
2.
BOS
  1. Vilén, Topias
  2. 2025 2nd round pick (WPG)
  3. 2026 4th round pick (DAL)
NJD
  1. Ullmark, Linus
Additional Details:
I think the return, if their even is a return, for Ullmark will be a bit disappointing. Still tho you clear the cap and you get a solid prospect in Topias Vilen and some picks.

Vilen would be a hard one for the devils to let go one of the only LHD in their system that could be top 4 long term

Agree on your Ullmark take but even still I doubt you’d get 3 assets for him. Drop the extra pick and I think it’s more than fair

I just don’t see this team doing any better than last year.

I like Vilen. He’s not good enough to supplement a 2nd round pick in 2025 to make the trade happen.

Vilen is a higher ceiling prospect, but is a couple years away.

Misyul or Hatakka would provide more immediate help as 6d/7d

Misyul is more physical, a bit more offense from top of o-zone. Hatakka is more nuts & bolts defense.

Lindholm is just what this teams needs up front. Someone who's great on the dot, can play a 200 ft game but also be a threat in the offensive zone. I know he's not a 1C but he's better than anything we had last year by a good margin.

Only trouble with this is Bussi has to go on waivers next year to go to Providence. I agree DiPietro is a good backup to Bussi as backup which is why I think they can get away with not investing in a goalie in FA.

I think people were holding a year where his world was tossed upside down against him. His play in the playoffs flat out show he’s a viable number 1C. Put him next to Pasta and I believe the risk is less than some want to make it out to be

I could see them sign a vet under a million. They can be buried without a cap hit.

The question is whether they want to play Dyck at Maine or Providence

This is about what I expect the real life Ullmark package to look like. The prospect might change and the fourth round pick may or may not be there (toss up). I do 100% believe the 2025 WPG 2nd round pick will be one of the primary assets in the trade if it happens.

Alternatively, the devils could offer someone like Graeme Clarke (or someone else) if the bruins need a player that’s closer to full time NHL games.
