PIT declines. Yager will soon be impactful on an ELC. Marner will be making a double digit aav for years to come. Nope. I would lower your expectations on a Marner return if I were you. TOR has none of the leverage.

Seriously doubt rebuilding Chicago gives two ****s about adding a 34 year old with retention they don't need for their 1st round pick.

Did you even think before you proposed that?

That's the easiest of declines for the Hawks. Best offer Leafs get from Hawks on Tavares is: Leafs pay his $7m signing bonus on 7/1. Hawks take him on 7/2 for future considerations.

if you are going to pay Lindholm 8 mil per you might as well keep Marner.
TOR sure does like over paying guys.

Linholm at 8 mil is better value than Marner at 10.5+. One is very good defensively, good offensively and doesn't vanish the second a game gets a little rough, the other is a soft perimeter passer who needs very good players on his line to do all the heavy lifting.

In fact a defensively responsible center who can produce offense too is something Toronto could really use.

75 games 46 points.
You might as well call them LA, and sign PLD.
Marner at 10.5x1 looks good compared to 8x6.

You have to understand there's a lot more to hockey (especially playoff hockey, the Leafs brick wall) than just points in the scoring race. Once you figure that out you'll have a much better idea of true player values.
