<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coreydox</b></div><div>Marner and matthews to 8 year deals, and Nylander signs a bridge one year deal after a subpar season.</div></div>
I'm getting sick of you idiot fans who claim Nylander is having a sub par season.
2016-2017 GP:81 | 22G | 39A | 61P | -3
2017-2018 GP: 77 | 17G | 38A | 55P +17
Many games without Matthews in the line up, and I'd argue the main reason why Matthews gets so many great chances is mainly due to Nylander creating something out of nothing. What a subpar season though absolutely good one.

your the idiot here man terrible trades followed by a even worse headline. You might want to stop contradicting yourself and actually look at allen stats. Makes sense to trade one of the best goalies in the league for nothing close to his value just because hes had a off month. OV had a bad road trip last few games im surprised you didn't go all in and trade him for leo komarov and a 3rd.

Let's not forget the time he trade Seguin for erikson, smith and morrow. Or blake wheeler for peverely. All in all he just makes really solid trades, how does this man have a job in hockey is the real question.

Doughty Trade (Thoughts)
You asked for my thoughts ... LA is suppose to trade a franchise dman and top 6 winger for an unproven dman a veteran bottom 6 forward and a guy who can't stay in the lineup without an injury. Not to mention those first round picks will be between 16-31. LA says take a big hike don't ever call me again.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>I don't understand the trades. Leafs seem to going for it with Hainsey and Marleau (overpayment) signings. And you think it's necessary to trade NHLers for distant picks. Komarov is needed, I can't imagine the Leafs wanting to Rychel and Leivo guaranteed a spot at LW. And there is absolutely no depth at centre if Fehr /Smith is traded.
But again this seems to be Leaf fan thoughts....Absolutely have to trade upcoming UFAs...the only team in the league than has too.</div></div>
Rychel does what komarov does but better, talk to me when you watch a marlies game some time. I watched all 77. Gauthier will assume 4th line role once healthy and miro aaltonen can play C as well. I would rather get assets in deep drafts to create cap space to sign core people than lose them for nothing. Maybe keeping komarov would be a good idea, we have so many forwards who need an opportunity to play.

Hainsey 3rd pair d-man at best on left side so everyone slides up one and Marincin drops to 7th d-man
But how ever it plays out I am liking the moves.</div></div>
In the interview with Lou after the Marleau trade he did mention Hainsey will be playing top 4, I agree with you though.

TML 17
I'd say hyman and brown contracts are the right value. Not sure about willy I would love it if he signs a 7 year deal at that term but I think willy want more given the season he just had. I guess this season will be a big one seeing the kind of numbers he puts up. The salary cap is starting to worry me. But if willy is putting up lets say 60-70 points a year as a 21 year old than im thinking he's at least going to want 7.5 plus. We will see. I like the miller deal to, although I wouldn't mind throwing a different prospect in there other than brooks, I would want to see brooks play 1 season in the AHL just to see what he's made of before we trade him.

RNH is a top 6 C for sure , plus Carolina has mckeown, bean, fleury coming up through the depth charts not to mention the top 6 they already have which is filled with young talent. I think that trade makes sense.

I like every trade here buddy except I doubt Toronto would trade bozak to the habs haha. I don't understand why people don't give shosh and leipsic credit I think both players are capable of top 9 roles they just need the opportunity. We get a top 4 dman and a proven bottom 6 C who can kill penalties and win faceoffs. I really like the jvr trade , karri is only 1 year and there's a possibility they could trade him for more picks or prospects and we get a first as well like it. For dallas it makes sense they get a proven top 6 forward who could ven slot in with the big line and good PP execution and they get rid of the horrible contract. I like the franson signing I have always thought the leafs should of kept him in the first place , and ill take Justin Williams on my team any day. The length of those contracts are well done as well. The only thing I would like to see is maybe dallas retaining 1.5-2 mill on the contract and switch the 3rd to a 4th.

Really, this could work....
Your judgment on Nielsen is very far off man , watch a marlies game sometime. Not sure what person you "heard" say he was a Salvador defensive but that to it also very far off. Putting up over a half a point a game in your rookie season in the AHL for a dman is impressive alone not to mention 20 years of age and 6''3. If you take a look at the limited skilled dman in our system why on earth would to trade our best defensive prospect for a 4 line C? ...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aelliott10</b></div><div>Palhal, I see your comments everywhere and respect your opinions, but I think you are off when evaluating trades for the ducks D. You seem to think JVR has little value because of impending FA, but you have to consider the Ducks expansion situation. They will lose either Manson, Vatanen, Silfverberg, etc. in the expansion draft without making a deal, for nothing . They need scoring on the wing, and are known to have high interest in JVR. Getting him instead of losing a good player for nothing is certainly better than what they are facing. They will not get a much better deal than JVR as a scoring winger than losing a player for nothing.
Carolina needs forwards, I can't see why they wouldn't have some interest in Soshnikov.
As for the D comment, Garrison is clearly a one year stop gap, and I am not sure what you expect them to do for the defence in one year. This is a lot better than trotting out Marincin, Hunwick, Polak like we did this past season, so that is an improvement in itself. Gardiner had a good year, but lets be honest he has to make you nervous most times he touches the puck. You can't do everything in one offseason.
Suggest some alternatives in your comments instead of making statements like you know everything. Go Leafs go!</div></div>
finally someone puts PADHAL in his place , at least im not the only person who agrees the guy thinks hes the GM of the universe and knows everything... Well said

Apparently losing shosh and lepisic would benefit Toronto for a number 6 and 7 dman? Can you explain how that helps Toronto ? Oh that's right your all about throwing away prospects for nothing.

This is what i would do for now
I disagree marincin has never been given a consistant chance in Edmonton or under babcock theres a big reason why figure it out. Yes rosen and Holm are long shots and may not work out. Clearly we have opposite views on Marinicin will leave it at that. If polak is able to come back than yes I do think we should resign him, He was a beast for us this year, geeeeee yeah go figure not the greatest skater good 1 pal your the next bob Mackenzie. Not sure why you would want to protect carrick over lets say rychel maybe we have to slip them a pick to take carrick, I personally would. Yes yes I know you disagree and I don't care because every comment you make on every single leaf post is narrow minded to your views. If you actually read my post you would of seen I wouldn't trade JVR or Bozak for """""NOW""""" and hopefully they would take cap friendly contracts next year, if not than OBV you move them. But hey in the words of the great padhal Dermott has no potential to be better than marincin, that tells me everything I need to know about how much you know about hockey. Keep chirping people bud your a idiot.
