2015 pre draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sushicat54834</b></div><div>Surprised you put Aho so high, many people underrate him.</div></div>
This was my pre draft ranking, i tough he had a lot of saku koivu in is game and was really high on him (he and White where two of my favorite at the time frome this class) in a redraft Aho is a top 10 pick for me all day long the guy is a true #1 center that can both creat and disrupt play

100% i would have him at 3 or 4 as well, this was my pre draft ranking i wanted to send some friends, not a redraft

I think the mtl trade is pretty close to fair value id probably say replace one of Domi/Danault for Poehling, and make the first the 16th overall this year.
But that might be selling low on laine. I dont know how you win a trade by losing such a player.

This is more of a joke resulting of a convo with a friend on value generation. The point being of being able to flip him for more assets then you paid at the deadline at half salary.

Brady tkachuk played both lw and center the past few season and is more a center then drouin or galchenyuk , i like ty dellandrea too (not too sold on o'brien and drury) both hrabik and lauko are center, montreal as a couple of center prospect for a 2nd/3d center with evans, poehling ect. They are starving for a number one center, in this draft they are few who could do it and they are all top 15 but not top5.

I think its a good deal on carlsson he could maybe get a little more on the market but it seems is good where he is and wants to stay it would make sence for both parties, dont mind the other signings exept tom willson why would he sign for that long on a bridge price ? What do you think of 3y 3.75m or 5y 4m ? Its are to evaluate is game in $ amount

next season destination: POs
I dont know for the edmonton trade.
I think you could get more not much but a bit more for beaulieu. I like the milano trade.
My isue with the team apart from depth that is lacking is that you have to win the lottery otherwise if you have pick 2,3 or 4 you need to either draft out of position or trade down to secure a dman + boqvist and hughes beind the next best two.
Also i feel like sam will want either more money or less terms. Like 4.5 for 4 years or 5 for 6. I still think that you would need to trade a package for a good young dman and this draft as a ton of them

I would prefer keeping pleky even in a 1 for 1 he takes all the big face off runs the pk and plays against the best player, he might not produce much point anymore but is still much more reliable then strome

Fair Montreal trade
I think most fans overvalue players from their respective team.
I think its also fair to say that they know them better then most fans of other team. All in all is often more of a slight overevaluation added to underevaluation of player from other team, that adds to an unfair trade.
Most mtl fan overvalue shaw so much but undervalue plekanec.

Maybe Backlund for Gallagher+Sherbak?</div></div>
Not sure this makes it backlund isnt a #1 center (montreal already as 2 decent number 2 center) also lets asume he extend on trade otherwise it never happens as gallagher as a really friendly deal.
Sherback is fair to put in the trade, as an nhler plis a prospect seems fair for a center in this market but not this center (i know we are not getting monahan, whit this package or any other.) I dont think mtl and Calgary are good dance partner.
Maybe sign vanek the guy is still able to produce can be really good in a midle six position.

What about this trade Montreal fans?
Seems like a decent trade even with plecky not being a cap dumb, montreal fans really dont like him but he is really good defensively (ask crosby hahha) and is elit on the pk. Still is offensive skills are under averadge and he shouldnt be playing top min. On the third line in edmonton he could do a lot of work they strugle on def so he is a big plus. He could give some tips to pulljujarvi who already looks like a two way stud.
Nice trade for both sides

IN: Gaudreau, Bennett, Draisaitl ; OUT: Pacioretty, Galchenyuk, Gallagher
I think its an over payment for leon, dont get me wrong the guys is really good and is a 1c on any team that asnt a guy like mcdavid or crosby.
But galchenyuk is actually a really good winger, he is still young but clearly as elit skills (as a winger) and gallagher well a girthy rw that plays a really good 200ft game on a super friendly deal isnt easy to come by.
I do realise you have to give talent to get talent back, but i dont think that montreal is a better team with that trade the center becomes way better but the wings take a beating.
As for the calgary deal i havent seen enough of bennet to aay really but those two guys better be able to snipe otherwise without pacio and galchenyuk montreal will have pletty of talent and puckhandling skills upfront but nobady to shot said puck.
Anyways intresting ideas!

VGK and CBJ trades
Way too much for johnson even if it is a trade and extend.
Also whenever you trade gallagher thers no need to retain salary he as a real good team friendly contract with some terms to it. Even only gally and shlemko no retained salary on both could be close to johnson.
I would lile him with weber for sure but not at that cost
I dont know for the vegas trade with so many assets its hard to see how it refelects on each team.
Missclicked on the rating sorry

What returns would this package get? COMMENT reliant post
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawkisles</b></div><div>I agree the Isles need to send back cap in most trades. Kulemin would likely be the go-to cap dump asset there. However, I have to wonder if PHI would take Clutterbuck. With his playstyle, PHI fans would adore him. And I like you idea of Simmonds, I get a feeling he'd fit in on the island.
Would PHI be willing to retain salary on Giroux? If so, maybe 3 1sts and Clutterbuck for 2m retained Giroux?</div></div>
The value for phili is certenly there but the probleme with retainning salary is the term of giroux contract, by the time it ends all their young player eill be on new an expencive contract i wouldnt see a probleme with 1.25 mil maybe 2m is okay if phili then trade other pricy player in the same rebuild optic.
Would certainly be intresting a 1-2 punch of giroux-tavares would give crosby-malkin a run for their money.

Two first pick of 2018 are so valuable that any team might want them.
Detroit is probably the team that can offer the most,
Green 50% retained+ 2 rooster player depending on nyi cap situation.
If phili decides to do a quick rebuild based on their young prospect they could offer simmons wich is probably on one of the top5 friendly deal in the league. Pairing him with tavares could be brutal, also they could send another player on a cheaper contract and taking kulemin as a cap dump to allow nyi to have more room

Going the distance
The drai trade makes a lot of sence dor both parties but im not sure id go for it from montreal perspective, i dont care much for shlemko and the 2019 1st but gallagher as such an insanely good contract and plays a good 200feet game whilst playing agaisnt the opoding top 2 line. And 2018 is going to be so deep that first picks are going to be worth a lot.
The byron trade doesnt make sence, at least for the next two uear you make the team weaker whilst loosing a 3rd pick, if galgary where to jad a 3rd pick and montreal removing theirs then maybe, but not quit sure its worth it.
Im not sure on what is green situation in detroit or if he would extend with montreal lost of factor but assuming he wants out and extend in montreal (mccarron also need to extend on a two way for it to happen) i could see the trade happening but only in those conditions

The streit trade is a joke right? We signed him in free agency if we where to trade him at deadline it wouldnt even be for a prospect or live asset (exept cap dump) it would be for a 4-5 or 6th pick depending on is season.
Nost of the other trade dont make that much sence either
Why getting danault out he is young and can play a two way game is going to be the future 2nd or third line center for a long time
