TDL moves
You do know that Laggesson played for MTL a couple of years back, and didnt retain his service? So why would they re-acquire him?

Pull the trigger
Traditionnally, it cost a good prospect + high draft pick (1st and 2nd round picks) to get these kind of player that you listed (You can also argue that they could be on the decline, like Sagecoll said).
Alas, BOS doesnt really have any of these 2 things:
- Their prospect pool is really shallow. Apart from Lysell and a small handful of other guys, there's not much value there. But that's to be expected when you had a long Stanley Cup window like BOS had.
- With only 5 picks in the first 3 round for the next (None in 2024), there is not much there too. The question that BOS management have to ask themselves is: "Do we wanna trade our 2025 1st round pick, and chase a rapidly-closing SC window, or garnish our prospect pool a bit so that, when we enter a rebuild phase, it'll be less rough?"
Realistically, I think BOS have to give one of their high-value player to receive one of these guys (Maybe Carlo? Maybe DeBrusk? Maybe Ullmark?)
One way or another, BOS futures doesn't look all that good for the next few years.

On twitter they broke down the little details of the logo too, check it out if you haven't, the branding is starting out unbelievably well.</div></div>
Yeah, at first I was not sure about the name but with the explanation that they gave, it makes 100% senses now.
As a graphic designer, the logo/jersey/color schemes is excellent. All in all, a great job.

Cirelli Cernak taking huge bridge Trade with SJS MTL
Those are good trades, on the short term. But its just pushing back the real problem. If they wanna get out of that cap hell, they'll need to trade 1 or 2 of Palat, Johnson or Gourde (even if is conract makes him difficult to move).

Give Kakko a new friend
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Linlan</b></div><div>You’re right, unless a prospect immediately steps into the NHL and becomes a Calder nominee then they’re washed up</div></div>
You do know that Kravtsov had a really hard time to adjust to the NHL, hell even in the AHL (5 goals in 35 games). He still have upside but that's gonna depend on him, and only him.
Chytil could develop into a really good 2C that's gonna be is max upside, he's not that elite.
CAR picks is probably gonna end up between 16th and 22th overall, so you could pick a good player but probably not a franchise or an elite player.
So, to recap: an elusive prospect who can't (for the moment) crack an NHL lineup, a B+ prospect who could develop into a good 2C and mid/lower tier 1st round pick
For
One of the best 2-way center in the game with an excellent offensive upside, who plays an average of 20 minutes per game, plays PP, PK and who's pretty good in the faceoff circle. Oh and he's also the leader of that team in terms of leadership.
So no, Dale Tallon's not gonna trade is captain for that kind of package

Sure but let put the MacKinnon contract in perspective.
When Nathan signed his deal, he was off 2 seasons where he was ok (38 pts in 14-15 and 52 pts in 15-16) and after that he became reaaaally good. And it was before all those contracts blew out of propotion.
So yeah, 6m for a bridge contract seems ok to me, but no way that he sign this kind of deal for 8 years

Would you do this move
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fran615</b></div><div>Basically, you're throwing in Drouin, who is at an all-time low value. Ikonen is Habs 20th prospect. Lekhonen is fast becoming a 4th liner, and sprinkle some 2nd round picks in there to try and make it more appealing. I'm a Habs fan, but that trade proposal is insulting for Pittsburgh.
BUT, I like trying to get Malkin though.</div></div>
The basis of this trade is potential.
Drouin: Sure is value is really low but he's only 24 yo and has a lot of talent, he could be a nice winger for Crosby
Ikonen: Sure Habs has a lot of prospect, but Ikonen could be one to sacrifice. He was injured for the majority of the season but he came back strong in the Liiga (10 pts in 13 games)
Lekhonen: I don't know why a lot of habs fans say he's not good. He's a hardworker, has some offensive upside and he's responsible defensively. Luck wasn't on his side this year (lots of post, broken stick and missed opportunity). He'll never be a top winger but has potential to be a solid 3rd winger.
And finally, these lasts years, 2nd round picks seem to be more popular than 1st round

Yeah they could be good, but honestly I don't see any of these prospects (except for Tkatchuk, Chabot and maybe White and Brannstrom) with elite potential. Let's just hope you get a nice high prospect in the 2020 draft.

Even with half of is salary retained by EDM, you'll have close to no cap space considering that McAvoy, Carlo and even Chara needs new deals.

Yeah, with that kind of deal for Point, you're just pushing back your problem for 1 more year, cause you'll have to deal with new contract for Vasilevskiy and Sergachev.

You got him for a "good" 2nd center, a prospect that was going nowhere and you think you can flip him for a top 10 draft pick? I really don't think so...
And all those signing will leave you little to zero money to re-sign Hall and/or give a decent contract to Hischier.

So you're just gonna dump 3 bad contract (even w/ some retain on Frolik contract) for 2 of MTL best scorer AND a 2nd round pick?
Don't get me wrong, Välimäki and Andersson are good prospects, but we are far from fair value on that trade.
