4 years is a long time for a 20-30 point guy.

Also high AAV for somebody who's likely playing on the 4th line (unless the Wild plan to bury Tyler Ennis on the 4th line, which would be even worse in a bang-for-your-buck sense).

While I don't disagree its a lot of term and AAV, I would like to point out that he played for a dogs**t team his entire career. A team that finished last place in the league twice, bottom 5 once and bottom 8 twice. He is -17 over his career while the team had a goal differential -300. He has posted even CF% relative and FF% relative while having a mostly defensive zone start. Sure he only put up 20-30 points in his career but look at how many points Duchene had last year.

The Wild also got 3 years of UFA on this deal that will bring him to the end of his prime.

I don't think its a great deal but I also don't think its bad. We shall see.
