This seems really over priced for a 33 point scorer. Tierney of the SJS scored 22 and is essentially making league min at $735K.

It seems like they're paying more for the legend of Pageau or his potential rather than his current ability level. It's not absolutely horrendous, but it isn't good by any stretch.

More like Tierney is a steal than Pageau overpaid.

Good thing signings are all about points, and have nothing to do with shutting down top lines, winning defensive draws, being the guy you have confidence throwing out there with 2 minutes left, ahead by a goal, 3 consecutive years of a PDO above 100, or advanced analytics.

Bobby Ryan had a season on pace for 33 points. He's making 7.25 million. Pageau isn't close to being Ottawa's biggest problem right now.

Pageau is a great defensive player. He isnt only being paid for his ability to score, he is being paid to kill penalties and shut down top lines not to mention how he was in the playoffs and he still has more potential to score more.
