Ducks need to loose someone before expansion draft day. Silfverberg is to important, and clearing Vatanen's contract can help them resign Fowler. Tampa needs D, and also has to trade before expansion day. Condra is added in to balance out salary.
I think it's not enough for Vatanen. Very good, top 4 defenseman, and i think he's top 2 actually. Don't see Anaheim doing that but that's just my opinion.

No, but someone has to go. They have tight salary space, and an expansion draft. Also Drouin wants top minutes, with Palat gone he gets put into a bigger role, making him more happy.

Hes saying that Tampa has no cap room, something you can't relate to. In order to keep most of their guys, someone has to go.
But if they trade Palat, 2 things. 1) if they do i think they could get more than Vatanen, and 2) i think they should keep the triplets together. if they want cap space they could trade Coburn/Garrison.
