What's good: It's a cheap signing and Seids had a good comeback year. As he's going to be strictly a bottom-pairing defenseman, there is absolutely no risk here.
What's bad: Despite markedly improving on a dreadful 2015-16 campaign, Seids still put up awful possession numbers. Moreover, provided he was signed to be the 6th and not 7th d-man, he will continue to eat up minutes that the young guys could use even if the Isles lose a d-man to Vegas.
