OTT says no. They aren’t taking a winger back for Pageau. I know I did a proposal including Sheary and Pageau, but there are other pieces in that deal that even it out. BUF says yes easily but Idk if the pens do. That’s the cost of rentals nowadays.

Would love an explanation of why OTT won't take a winger back for Pageau, they're loaded at center and their biggest problem right now is scoring. Otherwise Sheary/Pageau is essentially fair straight up, with centermen being the more "expensive asset" (hence the late pick). Kane is at almost a PPG so he's probably worth it for the Pens.

Why are punishing Sabre by making them them sign Cole for four years?

Here’s a explanation from OTT POV. They have Duchene-Brassard-Pageau down the middle, why would they gut the center depth for a winger? As you can see with the pens right now, wings don’t work well without the proper center especially on the 3rd line. It would take a major overpayment to get Pageau on this team. OTT is strong on the LW if I believe, so they’d want a RW probably coming back. And don’t say Sheary plays RW because he sucks at it. Rust would be a decent option but he doesn’t move the needle enough without someone else on top of it. Plus Pageau is signed cheap for 3 years, which while Sheary is too, centers are more expensive then wingers. If you ask 10 OTT fans, I bet 8/10 would say no and not need to use an explanation.

I don’t see Sabres signing Cole to a contract, but I will pray for the team the gives him 4m+
