Buffalo is probably hoping for more than that for E Kane.
I'm not sure this is a good year for the Blackhawks to get a rental player for a playoff push/cup run. I don't think this team is one scorer away from serious Cup contention. Things can change of course, and maybe E Kane would spark them-however I think this is a take a small step back year. I do like trading away Panik.

i don't like evander kane. I would much rather get Mike Hoffman who has a good contract for 3 seasons including this one. Hawks if they trade panik can afford it now, and uses it to prepare for the future.

We would want more. We want a first coming back and either another pick or a prospect. We can retain on kane if needed, i think because of this and the season he is having we have a good chance of getting it.

Panik has 0 value, he is a flash in the pan, and the rest of those prospects are nothing special.

Well this is certainly not true at all. Panik's issue is consistency and always has been. When he's on, he is a top 6 forward without a doubt. When he's off, he's a bottom 6 forward. Either way he is still very much an NHL player. There are many GM's that would take a chance on him.
