Like the thought. But think Wild might want less cap coming back and more than one year of JVR. Maybe a expansion exempt player like Kapanen instead.

We have to sign Nylander, Matthews, and Marner in coming years. All three should get locked in for at least 8 years. Pominville's contract is going to hurt Toronto, we wouldn't even be able to resign Dumba. Sorry but you need to trade cheaper.

do you realize JVR is more productive than Marleau or Williams?, and younger, and still cheaper....I don't understand why everybody wants to get rid of JVR and most of the time even keeping salary retained...
The past season JVR 62pts 2nd on the Leafs, 29G 33A LAST 4 SEASONS 208pts 100G 108A in 284Games played
Williams 48pts 24G 24A LAST 4 SEASONS 184pts 83G 101A in 325Games
Marleau 27G 19A LAST 4 SEASONS 221pts 104G 117A in 328Games

IMO JVR is a machine and will get even better in Babcocks system, if we trade him now Leafs will be sorry down the road, and more if you sign older FA who are on their downside to replace him. I trust Lou will get him to sign a fair contract cap wise to stay in TOR to win the Stanley Cup
