Description
haha would this be close to the value or no?

LTIR:

Dupius: Retired

Sheary: Gone but will be back b4 end of reg.

Daley: Ok so this is intresting because I think he will be gone all the way up to the end of the season or maybe start of playoffs. So by putting him on LTIR (not IR) they can create a loophole like the one Chicago did in 2015, ironically with Kaner.

You asked. Not close. What is this fantasy about making Fleury a backup and then buying him out. And the Oilers have to give up Davidson too? Fleury is a Pen, period. I know it's a common theme, Pens high priced players get dumped, so the Pens can get cap space so trades can be made. Ollie's ass isn't needed in St Louis either. Wish you had done this post with the 2017/2018 team. They need cap space (one reason why they haven't been negotiating with Shattenkirk)
Don't know how putting injured players on LTIR is a loop hole.

Almost everything you said here is true. Almost.

I realize it's not even close to the right value for Kane because he's so good, there's really no proper value to him. You are correct with Fleury, he ain't getting dealt (at least I don't think so). I made that trade because of the salary cap, that was the only reason (it also says it in the trade description). And yes, St Louis do need an LHD, so Maatta would be very much needed there.

If you remember in 2015 when Kaner went down near this time of the year, Chicago put him on LTIR, and by doing that it gave them a lot of cap space which they used on Vermette, Timonen, and Desjardins. Well, because there is no cap space in the playoffs, and Kane returned first game back, they were basically like 8-10 mill over the cap.
