How is this?

I’m a Devils fan, but tried an honest take. They have some similarities to NJ off season last year. We had two top-four dmen on UFA (Graves and Severson)…and two young stud dmen in the pipeline (Nemec and Hughes). Going so quickly from veteran-heavy to rookie-heavy added some growing pains for Devils this year. Canes have Skjei and Pesce departing…and Nikishin and Morrow on the way. I tried to bridge the gap to create more seemless transition.

- Morrow eventually takes Burns spot
- Nikishin takes Walman’s spot

Up front, Turcotte eventually takes 2C role when Kuzy expires. And Blake, Nadeau fill in middle six roles, pushing Martinook down when Fast is up, and Comtois to bench.

And Perets takes Andersen’s spot in a year if ready

Wayyy too much on all of these guys. If Waddell pays Chatfield 4m he deserves to be shot into the sun.

That Necas trade kinda stinks. Turcotte is entering bust territory. Spence is nice but not worth Necas 1 for 1

He's a bottom pairing guy. Sometimes he's okay, sometimes he sucks. Wouldn't go any more than 2m

Pretty bad value for Necas. Also overpays for Drury, Martinook and especially Chatfield. Jarvis probably gets a bridge, and they’ll keep Orlov to play the 2nd pair. Morrow’s probably getting a roster spot next year, but they might get a solid top 4 RHD to play between him and Burns.

And was Drury not good? Thought he was 3C of future. He has been a full-timer for a year and a half and holds arb rights.
