Wood is NOT a B-Level prospect, he's arguably our #1/#2 prospect. We have no need for Marner with Kemell and Evangelista. If we need someone to bridge the gap before Kemell and Wood come up, I'd sign Reinhart to a short-term deal in FA. Marner is too expensive overall. Also, apparently Trotz wants to keep Saros till TDL to mentor Askarov.

Send down Webber and sign a UFA d-man you would have over 1.5M.

I get where you’re coming from, but we can solve those problems in FA or in a trade for a cheaper player rather than constricting ourselves cap wise and depleting our pool.

Makes sense for any other team, but Trotz is ok missing the playoffs. He wants to build strong culture and a team via drafting and development. It’s more just the fact that we have to sacrifice futures who could turn into some great players on a guy who easily wants more than 10 mil. If he’d take less, Id do it, but I know he won’t and that creates a bad precedent for our younger RFAs. On the RW, we have Evangelista who could easily be a 70+ point player, Kemell who could be a 30 goal guy and Matthew Wood, who could be a solid 70 point power forward. Long term, a Marner contract would be a bad thing for this team. Just my 2 cents.
