oof I know most Sabres fans will say no but honestly I'd have to think about that deal. Would come down to how the first 4 picks shook out.

Not that I don’t think Buffalo would like the number five overall pick, but I don’t know who we’d be taking with it that makes losing Quinn worth it. That is also a rebuilding team kind of move, and not a “we want to make the playoffs finally“ kind of trade. So it seems rather unlikely.

MTL won’t move their 5th overall for Quinn. He’s a great player, but it doesn’t make sense for them. Sabres would decline too they can’t justify trading another top 6 player after they traded Mittelstadt.

NYR paid a 2nd for Wennberg, a lesser player. A lot of teams would want to add Dvo for a cup run if he can stay healthy.

You sound like all the 2022 Lekhonen haters.

The phone call to inquire about Zegras will cost you more than this

Is is one of the worst Zegras to Montreal trades of the last 5 months full of bad trades

With the Sabres closer to legitimacy than the Habs I feel like that trade is more likely to happen in reverse. Only problem is outside of Caufield/Suzuki/Slafkovsky/Guhle there's no one worth spending 11 on.

The difference there is that Lehkonen was actually good. Dvo is mid when healthy, which wasn't often this last season

I don't think Habs offer their 5th overall for Quinn.

And Habs should not target primadona Zegras. Let him lose his value in Anaheim.

He's soft and doesn't know how to play defense. Cancer in the locker room.

Your offer is even worse than the one proposed by Basu and Godin

Lehkonen was a 30pts bottom 6 winger. Of course you knew he was good back then, right...

Dvo is a 30pts middle 6 center. Like Wennberg. Who got traded for a 2nd. And he's healthy now.

Dvorak fell off the face of the Earth the moment he left Arizona. He makes at least double what he’s worth and that’s why his value is so low. If you want a decent return for him you have to eat half the contract, which sort of defeats the purpose of trading him, doesn’t it?

Again, Lehkonen was off the face of the earth too in MTL. Fans not noticing a player doesn't mean the league's managers don't value them.

MTL has plenty of capspace. The purpose of trading Dvo away is to acquire an asset for the rebuild. Geting a 2nd for him half retained at the next TDL would be perfect.

Lehky had 29 points in 58 games with Montreal the season he was traded to Colorado. That is a 41 point pace over a full 82 games.

Dvorak had 9 points in 30 games with Montreal this last season. That is a 25 point pace over a full 82 games.

In addition to that, Lehky's underlying numbers were much better than Dvoraks. I don't think Dvo is a total write off, but he's not in the same ballpark as Lehky right now. If we're lucky, he bounces back and plays well enough this upcoming season that we can get a 2nd for him at the deadline
