Stamkos

Created by: letsgoblues1967
Team: 2024-25 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: May 1, 2024
Published: May 1, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Surely Stamkos will have his pick of destinations. But why not St. Louis? It would be pretty comfy for him. He doesn't have to be 1C. All he has to do is be a professional that helps the young players develop and enjoy a few more years in the NHL. At the end of the contract Dvorsky is capable of replacing his production.

He's staying in TB,and what's really going to piss people off is it'll be an AAV between 5.5-6.25

I feel like if Stamkos is going to help anyone develop it's going to be guys like Dylan Duke, Max Groshev, etc in Tampa. A 7M offer is definitely matched in Tampa, and benefits from taxes probably let him take home more anyways.

I had this thought myself. He would be awesome to have around our young forward core, and he can slot in at 2C (move Schenn to the wing where he is more productive). With Stamkos, Buch probably needs to go. Don't want to have money tied up once we finally have the chance to get out from some of these bad contracts.

With that all being said, he isn't coming to STL. We aren't a playoff team, STL itself isn't much of a desired destination, and TB will have a great opportunity to lock him up with something team-friendly
