At first, the names just pop out of course, but a quick refresh, and this definitely favors the Blues. For Ottawa, replacing Batherson on offence with Barbashev, who may not re-sign, is a loss. Krug and Faulk probably still have a bit of good, not spectacular, but good, hockey left in them, but past 30 years of age and with too much term left on their deals, Ottawa doesn't bite.

Sure would fit the Blues though, to re-tool afresh without their money on the books, top six of Buchnevich - Thomas - Batherson and Saad - Schenn - Kyrou would be pretty sweet.. Neighbours coming up on left wing too (is he 2nd line potential material?). Separated Thomas and Kyrou to spread the young talent around the top six rather than condense it.
