Additional Details:

Lee at $5m is a reasonable contract for his expected production the next two years.

He played at Notre Dame and is in Chicago all the time during the offseason, I'd expect him to waive for them (assuming Chicago is even on his M-NTC)

Chicago would benefit from having him on the ice/in the locker room and they have a plethora of picks

i would do it as the sens if there is no better option to flip norris for a roster piece

I like this for both NYI and OTT but NYI needs to give a bit more, not sure what though.

Hawks aren't paying for Lee, but also why retain? Doesn't really make sense. If you're going to dump Lee...just dump him and use the cap space.

I retained because I think at full boat to shed Lee's $7m the Isles would have to pay. Buying him out is worse than retaining a couple million. At $5m I think you can get positive value for Anders

That positive value definitely isn't coming from the Hawks. Isles probably need to retain half on Lee to get anything close to a 2nd.

This seems like a reasonable trade but I'm a big believer in Norris and wouldn't do it
