I don't see the Hawks doing this trade. We have our own PPG+ AHLer that needs ice time. Nothing against Berggren...just don't think the Hawks are the right fit.

Philly says yes cause why not. maybe youd have to pay a lower pick for us to take him, but dont hate him and Seeler as a 3rd pairing

Roy gets 5.5-6 mil.

And he's not signing with Detroit to be a 3rd pair D behind Ben Chiarot. LOL

Way too much for TT
Way too little for Roy (and he's not a 6D)
Too little for Raymond
Danielson is nowhere near ready to be a 2C
Perron sucks

He actually might, just not from us.

Definitely not worth that though

Hawks decline. They don't need any more AHL talent.

I get it, just dunno where he could go. He's clearly outgrown the AHL, and is out of favor with the Wings management. Perhaps SJS. I just want the guy to get some icetime.

I don't know many teams that will pay him 5.5-6, but you're right, he's def not a 3rd liner. He would be higher than Chiarot, I wasn't really thinking lines so much as staying within the cap lol

1) TT is going to demand that much, and given Detroit's talent (or lack thereof) on wing, he would be a good fit. Marchesault is another guy, but he's a small winger who is older than TT.
2) yup, but Roy is a dream signing. Petry and his NMC isn't going anywhere. Switch Chiarot and Roy, and I'm still happy with Roy, but we can't afford anything more than 4, maybe 5 million. You're right, I just really want Roy
3) that's why it's a bridge deal, 3 years, he'll still be an RFA, but make massive amounts of money
4) Which is why he's flanked with experience. We can't afford a quality C, so lets use a homegrown one on an ELC. It's a shame to put him on 3C or 4C. If that's the case, let him sit in the AHL, but then we have a hole at C.
5) Agreed... but his value isn't on the ice, it's in the locker room. 4th liner making meh money isn't a big deal.

There's a GM in Michigan which happens to be Roy's home state who will pay him that. 😉

He paid Chiarot 4.75 and Holl 3.2 in UFA. 😬

Teams overpay in FA all the time. Somehow, the Canes thought Orlov is worth 7.8M, Flyers thought Hayes is worth 7.1, and Gallagher signed a 6.5M deal. I'd take TT over all 3 of them.

Might as well try to bring back Kane at 5-5.5

That's the tradeoff in UFA.

You give up no assets but you get the player.

You only give up cap space.

okay, so I paid Roy a bit more, and moved Berggren to the Oilers because... it's Kenny

1) TT is not that good - Yzerman won't be paying him that
2) Roy is not that much of a pipe dream and we can easily afford $6M+ for him
3) Sure
4) Danielson isn't ready, Kasper may be
5) Perron sucks
