Long term D option? He is on a 1 year deal and they're rebuilding not sure why they'd trade Cates and Grans for him?

just re-sign him? That would be the incentive for about 90% of the teams he would be traded to. Cates is a third lineer and Grans is a massive question mark atm with upside, i’m not asking for the moon here
