Sharks will require a 2nd to take 2 years of Holl.

Just buy him out.

Zero chance the Hawks take Maatta even for free, which means, if you want to move him to the hawks...you need to pay not the other way around

Hawks aren't giving up picks for Maata. As @ChiHawk said, Detroit would need to pay to move him to CHI.

I agree the Hawks won't be paying to take on Maatta but he was one of the better 3rd pair d in the league last year based on analytics. I'm sure they would take him for a late round pick or for future considerations. Could easily flip him at next years deadline for a 3rd or 4th.

You proposed a 4th for him. If all he's worth is roughly that, why not just cut out Chicago as a middleman and send him to a team that wants him? If the value is about the same now or at the TDL, then Chicago is taking all the risk of him staying healthy and playing well enough to hold that value.

Hawks don't have the room on the left side to even play Maatta. He is also a well known entity in Chicago and he's a #6 guy on most teams which doesn't fetch much at the TDL.

Anaheim isn't about to acquire a 28-year-old $4 million bottom-6 LW who wouldn't play ahead of Trevor Zegras, Frankie Vatrano, Cutter Gauthier, Troy Terry or Alex Killorn.

No one is giving up a pick to pay Robby Fabbri $4M next year. Likely the same with Maatta.

Maatta has some value.

He's a good 3rd pair D.

A 4th is fair.

But Chicago isn't the right team for him.

Ha, sure man. Thanks for the insight. You could say that about literally any post on this hellscape of a website.

Anyways, yeah no one is giving up a fourth to pay Robby Fabbri $4M. We can call it an educated guess if you'd like.
