I’m not so sure that first statement is correct. The front office has identified that they want to build a sustainable longterm winning team. You can’t do that when you have no good ELC , no good RD in the organization besides Zub and no replacement longterm for Giroux.

Guys with term like Chabot don't move at the deadline. It happened with Hertl and that was a total anomaly. Those big money in, money out deals have to happen in the summer, when teams are building for next season.

I don't think he was referring only to the trade deadline. Deadlines like the draft, start of FA, or the start of the season also exist. Right now we're still mid playoffs so no one is making any substantial offers.

Dammit! I was hoping you were gonna say that Artem Zub was available! Tyler Kleven is going to be a good NHL defence man. Do you think they move both Chychrun, and Chabot though? One I can see, but two… maybe, but then they would have to try and get replacements. I am interested to see what they do nonetheless!

OTT should keep Chychrun, if he's willing to sign something like 6.75Mx8, sounds like he really likes it in OTT, and it's good to have two guys who can produce from the back-end. They likely won't get too much for him anyways. Chabot on the other hand could probably get a sizeable return, sending him to Utah might be a good option but not for Crouse unless they are adding some good prospects (they likely won't add much though if anything). Then targeting Konecny would be the next step. Maybe PHI would take Chabot but I'm not too sure about that (Chabot + a prospect for Konecny + Ristolainen + a pick?).

I think another team that could maybe be interested is Florida, but not sure they have much that they would be willing to give.

Chabot + something for Marner + Liljegren. This sounds crazy, but maybe we'll get a crazy blockbuster.
