Only reason the canes would trade for buch is to save money so the blues would have to retain for that trade to ever make sense

I can't imagine the Canes trade (in this case) 6 years of Necas for 1 year of Buchnevich, let alone throw in the better defensive prospect.

I think you’ll have to take Morrow out. The only way I see this working is if the cap crunch pinches Necas. However, with his performance this year and last I’d have a hard time thinking he’s not near the top of their priority list. Morrow they afford to trade as they need some cost controlled top end players and he very much looks like that

Take out everything but Necas and Buch. Only catch is that a sign and trade would need to be in place for Buch or Buch willing to sign in Carolina for it to make sense for the Canes. Otherwise one year of Buch doesnt equal out to RFA Necas

I like the idea of Faulk to Toronto - he’s the PP guy they need on the back end and the salary retention is probably needed and definitely helpful. But this feels awfully light for a right handed defender that can play top 4 and put up points. Not to mention I think Steeves is a guy that stays around as a call up guy.

Anything else realistically that St.Louis would be interested in you think? Maybe a Liljegren type player? Or maybe a bit more of a blockbuster that included Rielly for Faulk and Buchnevich?
